Phoenix Burning: Poetry

If Only I Had A Tail

If only I had a tail

(Like that of a monkey, not a whale)

Perhaps a dog's would be nice too

Or other creatures from the zoo

I would use it as I should

To do things that are good

Wait! To do things that are great

Not bound by constraint of fate

It would help me to climb higher

And set the world afire

I wouldn't have to worry about falling

(Hitting the ground is so appalling)

Just imagine all the things I'd do

If my tail would come through

I'd make the Earth a better place

And help advance the human race

Things would happen if I tried

And all my force would be applied

I would never have to fail

If only I had a tail
